Mixed Chinese Keyboard is an Android soft keyboard implementation designed to input both traditional and simplified Chinese characters on mobile devices. It incorporates the Hong Kong Government Cantonese Romanization convention, Cangjie, Simplified Cangjie, and English-Chinese dictionary lookup features.

To perform a phrase lookup (requiring 48MB of heap memory), users can input Chinese phrases directly using prescribed patterns. For example, for '你好嗎,' users can key in 'nhm' or 'nhma' for Cantonese, 'ovr' or 'ovrf' for Simplified Cangjie, and 'ovr' or 'ovrsqf' for Cangjie.

Instructions to open the keyboard on different versions of Android:

• For Android 1.5 - 2.x:
  1. Check the keyboard at Settings > Locale & text
  2. Long press a text box > select input method
• For Android 3.x - 4.x:
  1. Check the keyboard at Settings > Language & input
  2. Click a text box > drop down the notification bar and click 'Choose input method' > select input method
• For Android 5.x:
  1. Check the keyboard at Settings > Language & input > Current Keyboard > Choose Keyboards
  2. Click a text box > Click the keyboard icon on the bottom navigation bar > select input method

For troubleshooting, some tips are provided:

1. If experiencing extreme lag after updating, try uninstalling and re-installing the keyboard.
2. After changing a theme, restart the keyboard or rotate the device with the keyboard active for the new theme to take effect.
3. If facing touch difficulty, adjust the 'Touch sensitivity' settings to High and Neutral.
4. If encountering missing candidates, enable the 'Rarely used characters' option under 'Chinese candidates' settings.
5. Simplified Chinese candidates are disabled by default but can be enabled under the 'Character type' option of 'Chinese candidates' settings if needed.

Concerning known issues:

1. The keyboard may close on its own when entering a contact's phone number text box on Samsung devices with Android 4.x. Plans for a fix are pending evaluation upon obtaining a Samsung device for testing.
2. On LG devices, even when sounds are disabled in settings, the keyboard may produce sound upon keypress. A solution will be investigated upon acquiring an LG device for verification.
